Drea DeMatteo is a series regular on HBO's critically acclaimed The Sopranos. She was also featured as Hugh Jackman's alcoholic ex-wife in Swordfish. At the 2001 Cannes Film Festival, Drea received phenomenal reviews for her portrayal of a Puerto Rican/American drug lord in Abel Ferrara's 'R Xmas. In addition to acting, Drea co-owns the ultra hip East Village boutique Filth Mart with her long time boyfriend. They also have their own denim line. Drea also works with HB Studios, where her mother, Donna DeMatteo, has taught playwriting for over 25 years. They are always developing and looking out for new writers and projects, as well as working on their own material for he stage of The HB Playwrights Foundation. Drea has a B.F.A. from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in film production.

Drea's father was a furniture manufacturer and her mother was a playwright. She was raised in Queens primarily by her grandmother and a Nicaraguan nanny. She now takes care of her nanny, who had a heart transplant.
